Dr. Atefe R. Tari is a researcher at the Cardiac Exercise Research Group (CERG), at the Norwegian
University of Science and Technology, and at the Department of Neurology and Clinical
Neurophysiology, St. Olavs Hospital, Norway. Before defending her PhD in medicine in 2022,
she had published 12 papers, several in high-ranking journals. Dr. Tari is heading her dedicated
research group within CERG, focusing on the effects of exercise training on Alzheimer's disease.
She is also co-principle investigator of the ExPlas trial examining the effect of plasma transfusions
from young fit individuals on cognitive function in patients with Alzheimer’s disease. Mainly her
research focuses on exploring the molecular secrets underlying the beneficial effects of exercise
training on cognitive function—aiming to unravel in detail the molecular choreography of exercise
training to discover molecular markers linked to various disease models.

Dr. Jakob Tarp is a researcher in physical activity epidemiology at the Norwegian School of
Sports Sciences, Norway. His research interests focus on studying the health effects of physical
activity and sedentary time on mortality and non-communicable diseases. Dr. Tarp serves as a
senior Associate Editor for Journal of Physical Activity and Health and on the editorial board of

University of Triangulo Mineiro, 2014, Brazil) and a PhD in Health Sciences (Federal University of
Triangulo Mineiro, 2018, Brazil). Dr. Nunes’ main research interests include the exercise/training
effects on physical fitness, inflammatory and metabolic profile in older adults. Currently, Dr. Nunes
is in the UEMG Research Productivity Scholarship Program.

Dr. Wenbo Chen is currently a postdoctoral research fellow and a surgeon in the Department of
Sports Medicine at Huashan Hospital of Fudan University, China. He attended medical school
in Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University and acquired his PhD at Huashan Hospital of
Fudan University, in sports medicine. He visited Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam,
Netherlands as a visiting scholar and participated several clinical researches on tendinopathy.
His research interests mainly focus on the epidemiology of sports injuries, as well as the
musculoskeletal soft tissue repair and regeneration.

Dr. Jingwen Liao is a researcher at the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Sports and Health
Promotion, Guangzhou Sport University, China. She received a doctoral degree in sport science

University School of Medicine in St. Louis, USA. Her interests include integrating exercise
physiology into chronic metabolic diseases and conducting epidemiological analyses on health
outcomes related to lifestyle habits. Dr. Liao has published over 30 journal articles and received
funding from the National Science Foundation. She received the 2nd and 3rd prizes of the Science
